This program focuses on the promotion and dissemination of choral singing through concerts and training for choir conductors and singers, as well as the dissemination of the choral movement in Chile. Within the framework of this initiative, Fundación Ibáñez Atkinson carries out the program “The beauty of singing” on Radio Beethoven, with the production and conduction of the Foundation’s Music Manager, Andrés Rodríguez Spoerer.
Convinced that the learning and practice of music from early childhood has cognitive and socio-emotional benefits that favor the integral development of people, we promote quality music education throughout the country.
Música Educa is a professional development program in music education, which offers advice to educational institutions and their community on content, planning and class monitoring. Likewise, it provides specialized training instances, aimed at music teachers and professionals related to the area.
We support young Chilean talents so that they can study and develop professionally within and outside the country. To do this, we organize auditions and have a scholarship program and master classes with some of the most recognized musicians in the world, among other initiatives.
Talent development pioneer program in lyrical singing in Latin America, which seeks to support and develop skills of exceptionally talented young singers, through technical instruction of the highest standard and performance opportunities on stage. This program takes place at the Municipal Theater of Santiago and has the mentorship of professionals such as John Norris (Munich and Berlin Opera), Evamaria Wieser (Salzburg Festival), David Gowland (Royal Opera House), Michael Heaston (Metropolitan Opera) , Bruno Nicola (Teatro alla Scala), David Lomelí (Opera Santa Fe), among others.
Students receive rigorous instruction and training in multidimensional techniques of the art of lyrical singing, both in the role of actors and singers, through intensive study with coaches in voice, acting, musical language, languages, professional orientation and coaching. They also opt for performance opportunities in the official season of the Teatro Municipal de Santiago.
Within the framework of our collaboration with this historic Chilean cultural institution, our Ibáñez Atkinson Young Artist Program (FIA-YAP) resides in this space, where students can access daily rehearsals and practice sessions, they can observe the preparation of great singers of the theater season, in addition to having the opportunity to participate in their productions interpreting secondary roles and covers of the official cast.
Together with this renowned theater located in Frutillar, Los Lagos region, we have proposed to promote and spread choral singing in southern Chile. In that sense, we carry out training with international experts for choir conductors and musical education teachers from Valdivia to Castro. We also provide support to the five choirs of the Escuela de las Artes de Teatro del Lago.
This collaborative program offers quality musical training to students from rural schools in the region of La Araucanía, in southern Chile. It is an initiative in which children learn to sing and play a string or wind instrument in classes taught by specialized teachers.
We bring classical music to schools in the Metropolitan Region through innovative educational concerts. These instances seek to build bridges between children and music, generating a close connection with it through the learning of concepts related to performance and various musical instruments.
Thanks to this alliance, the Institute of Music of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (IMUC) provides the Ibáñez Atkinson Foundation with its infrastructure for the development of the training of the Música Educa program. Likewise, from the Foundation we support the organization of the Sacred Music Encounters and the IMUC Summer School.
Through heritage projects, we seek to recover and enhance the value of the Chiloé churches, a unique example of religious architecture in Latin America and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
