El Placer de Oír Leer

Organized by Fundación Ibáñez Atkinson, El Placer de Oír Leer is the largest read-aloud reading contest in the country. Since 2014, this initiative has placed value on children’s reading aloud, thus contributing to enhance key skills such as self-esteem, critical and creative thinking, concentration, listening and a favorable attitude towards reading, among other essential attributes for the comprehensive development of children.

The contest, which has impacted close to 108,000 children since its creation in 2014, is organized by Fundación Ibáñez Atkinson and has the collaboration of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, through its faculties of Education and Literature and its Biblioteca Escolar Futuro, and NTV; in addition to Editorial SM, IBBY Chile and Fundación Palabra as sponsors.
