Chiloé
Through heritage projects, we seek to recover and enhance the value of the Chiloé churches, a unique example of religious architecture in Latin America and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Know moreThrough our curricular and methodological support, we offer content consulting, support course planning and contribute tools for classroom management, among other actions, to several schools in the Metropolitan Region and other regions throughout Chile.
In each establishment we support music teachers with our library of learning and teaching resources, which includes the sequential, integrated curriculum of the acclaimed U.S. program Education Through Music adapted to the Chilean curriculum. It promotes the field of music as a core subject that can positively impact learning in other areas when taught in an interdisciplinary fashion. Advising is complemented by scholarships to participate in our training and access to educational concerts for the school community.
Through workshops and training for teachers from different regions of Chile and Latin America, this continuing education program seeks to develop, strengthen and refresh the knowledge and teaching skills of music, preschool and elementary school teachers. It also seeks to create a community that enriches itself through the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
These sessions are conducted by leading national and international experts, and include courses in cross-cutting themes such as singing, folklore, creation and adaptation of repertoire, etc., as well as training in musical methodologies like Dalcroze, Orff and Kodály. For the latter methodology, we have a special teacher training plan directed by American educator, Lydia Mills. It includes four levels delivered during an intensive summer course on folk music, pedagogy, practice, choir and solfège, following the standards required by the Kodály training programs worldwide.
